High performing organizations are able to formulate and
articulate a shared vision and mission that in turn drive
the strategic planning process. A vision statement
describes the desired future state of the organization
and communicates what makes an organization unique and what sets it apart from all others. The mission statement
describes the organization's business in broad and
timeless terms, and answers the question "Why are we
here?" Clearly defined vision and mission statements
are the bedrock of effective strategic plans. Bert
David Associates (BDA) works with organizations to
create meaningful vision and mission statements. Once
consensus is reached, BDA
facilitates the development of a strategic plan that
addresses the specific needs of the organization.
Participants in BDA Strategic Planning sessions work
collaboratively to:
|
-
Develop specific goals and objectives based on the organization's vision and mission;
-
Identify organizational core values;
-
Examine internal strengths and weaknesses;
-
Examine external threats that challenge organizational success;
-
Identify external opportunities to enhance organizational success;
- Address
critical issues within the organization;
-
Develop a strategic plan of action for minimizing organizational inhibitors
(weaknesses, threats) and maximizing organizational drivers (strengths,
opportunities).

Group consensus around all aspects of a strategic plan is
critical to its success. BDA assists organizations in
reaching and maintaining consensus through a cyclical
process of planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision.
